No, the artists are allowed to sell their Marvel art. There are very public auctions in the MTG Art Market Facebook group. You are correct there are still no APs.

My partner and I play a lot of Railroad Ink, it's not exactly the style you've asked for but it's compact and great for traveling. You get a whiteboard grid and roll dice that have train tracks/roads on them and draw them onto your grid. Up to six players but plays the same with two!
