Writing a novel best described as Passion of the Christ meets Top Gun. Also love Stephen King, and playing the mandolin, and learning Python and Arabic. And of course my hometown, #NoLA
I was waliking down 23rd Street to the Foggy Bottom metro and a several ambulances screamed by followed by a bunch of cop cars with lights and sirens, going to GW Hospital. This was after 4pm. Coming from direction of the WH but not enough cops to be POTUS, but it was somebody important.

Acetaminophen causes liver damage if you exceed the maximum daily dose, which I think is about 4000 mg.

Sue him in his personal capacity.....because he is way out of his lane here. VP has nothing to do with pharmaceuticals. In fact, historically, the VP has nothing to do, period.

DOJ might take it over and it might be dismissed, but let him squirm for a little while.

If this is true, something like this should be front page in mainstream DOMESTIC news, not Al Jazeera.

There are two possibilities: (1) it didn't happen as reported, or (2) our MSM is so complicit with the White House that they don't care about assaults like this.

I have suspicions (hint: #2)

Also, it's real easy to "hold the line" when you're still getting paid. It takes no courage at all to keep telling the GOP "no", while gleefully pocketing your Senate and House pay.

In addition to the selfish desire for me to be able to feed myself and my family, the other thing that really scared me was the possibility of a major air disaster. I don't care who would've been "blamed" for it. It's a tragedy that I hope we avoided.

Exactly. Fed workers can’t tell Food Lion or their landlords “hey there’s an election in a year and we might get paid AND back pay! Just hang tight!” Some folks were desperate now. And they can’t get side gigs because some are excepted and have to show up for work.

“Happy” isn’t the word. “Relieved” is better. How many here can miss two paychecks and simply shrug it off?

Congress being assholes is no justification for doing that to ordinary citizens who had nothing to do with the issue.
November 10, 2025 at 12:14 PM
Agree. Civil servants (as we like to say) are NOT political. Nobody should be using them for anything, except the jobs they were hired to do, and should be paid for doing.

Congress being assholes is no justification for telling fed workers to lose several paychecks.

So just wanting to get paid for the work I’m doing is somehow…. Just following orders? What orders? I’m just trying to work. The govt hired me; I’m trying to do my part. If I do my part, they do their part and pay me. It’s THAT simple.

Civil servants are NOT political.

Your family has needs. So does mine. I have been working through the shutdown and need a paycheck.

And I didn’t end the subsidies, so your anger is misplaced.
November 10, 2025 at 11:36 AM
We didn’t come to work for the govt to go through hell for anybody. We just want to do our jobs and get paid, like normal people.

I don’t know why our families have to be the ones to make sacrifices. All of the Dems are still getting paid- as are most people here. Easy to throw us under the bus.

I am a govt employee and frankly I am tired of being used as a pawn for both sides. All this angst over healthcare subsidies and meanwhile we aren’t getting paid at all. For some, things are getting desperate.

We are tired of everyone assuming we somehow signed up to be martyrs.
November 10, 2025 at 8:17 AM
Sold who out? The federal workers who are desperate for a paycheck? They didn’t sign up to be martyrs. Y’all are quite happy to throw them under the bus.

I guarantee you that Tim Kaine’s constituents in Northern VA aren’t telling him to hold the line. They need to pay their bills.

I'd love to help some of these animals. I lost two kitties in the past month to old age and have room. But I live in MD so it's unlikely any affected shelters are near me?

I am not passing moral judgment on what is essentially a massive Python program. All I can say is: It's sad that the deceased turned to it for help. It's great in helping me out with Calc 2 problems. Providing emergency mental health care for a soul in torment -- not so much.

I've never tried this, but if a person said, "I need to k*ll myself" it would likely ask if it can help with that, and cheer me on as I made plans. It isn't supposed to have a conscience, it's programmed to help humans out with whatever they need help with.

I have used ChatGPT a LOT in the past few months. One thing I've noticed is that -- I can hardly ever do anything wrong and it is infinitely patient. What that means is: I could say, "hey, I see the sky is blue!" and it would say, "Excellent observation! Would you like to know why?"

Seems like a Federal Records Act violation. If they can go after Hillary for her “30,000 emails”, these clowns are fair game

But we can't identify them. THAT's why they're wearing masks. They learned a lesson from the #J6 prosecutions. Most of them were probably there.

Do you know for a fact that he was "grounded"? Trump doesn't strike me as a guy who would listen to real doctors. Maybe nobody wanted to meet?
October 25, 2025 at 1:07 PM
I've heard the saying that "most grand juries would indict a ham sandwich", but presumably there was SOME evidence. Or maybe not. We'll never find out because it's secret.

Possibly redundant -- but that's a big-ass butt.
