I used to tell a joke about Polyphemus, but Nobody liked it.
I have a joke about Odysseus, and by the Fates, I'll come back around to the punchline soon enough.
I've got a joke about Echo but you've heard it before.

Real house.
Dog.
Dentist visits.
Return to fitness.

My share of the world’s work has been done for *years* already.

The provisioning I’m obliged would be most welcome.

My day job would also stop existing- UBI would remove the need for it entirely.
Honest question: If everyone got Universal Basic Income, no strings attached, what would YOU do with it?

If I spend the time and effort to cook for more than myself, I shouldn't even have to *think* about the cleanup, much less see it or do it.

Ever.

“The memories are the important part, and they don’t take up any closet space.”
I said, as if anyone else remembers.

The worst part of life is watching so much of humanity disprove the validity of its existence over and over again- yet not die for their failures.

Too many treat having kids like checking off something on a make-believe Life “To Do” List.
That creates lives that are ruined *in advance* and uses resources that are already spoken for to ruin more.

More cons need to share reg lists so they can curate more effectively.
Being scene requires being seen. Many attendees aren’t ready for that.

It’s almost impossible to fiddle with benefits like SNAP in a way that matters.
Getting on them in the first place has always been deliberately difficult, so I never bothered.
I went hungry instead.

I’ve been a chef in restaurants with Michelin stars.
I can stretch a dollar farther in the kitchen than almost anyone alive.

When I order extra because it’s a special entree and get an email *that morning* telling me it didn’t come in at all.

All very true. Orgs that have the purchasing set up already will do far more good with cash.

Similarly, orgs like Meals on Wheels often need volunteers to deliver the food they *do* have.

Speaking from experience- I run MoW for my city all by myself. See what's near you, and if they need help.
If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples
