Humshaugh Net Zero (HNZ)
@humshaughnetzero.bsky.social
HNZ is a CIC committed to developing proposals to reduce the carbon emissions of the village of Humshaugh in Northumberland. Our goal is to reach Net Zero by 2030. We are active locally, regionally & nationally in pursuit of the Net Zero agenda!
Out & about with our plans for a community energy scheme, we're finding great support for such local action - but we need much more support nationally.

Interesting to read this as a way of bringing more young people into the climate conversation, although the comment from a reader about its accessibility is disappointing.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that a leader of this party was also a leading voice on the need for climate action! We need to keep speaking up for the majority view on the need for climate action!

If community groups like ours are not cutting through quickly enough on arguing the need for urgent action on the climate crisis, perhaps ‘establishment’ institutions like the CBI (see earlier post) and now the OECD will have more success?🤔

We really do need action on this! We have a ‘shovel-ready’ project humshaughsolar.org but securing funding from public bodies with resources to back renewable energy schemes is proving difficult for a small, community-based schemes like ours.
