The drink is called Stop Yelling At Us
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

We should reboot journalism completely. Start from scratch. They should get those old timey hats and a pencil and figure it out from there

That’s nice but “personal violence is unthinkable” is religious thinking. I would take you more seriously if you were saying this would happen following the return of Jesus Christ
abolitionists want to create a world where personal violence is unthinkable because the underlying reasons why we hurt each other have been addressed to thoroughly that harm never feels like than option. i hope we succeed.
I‘m tired of being nice about this; “abolitionism” has had years to develop a non-idiot policy program and the best they’ve come up with is ”murder without even the pretense of juridical process.” And I am not nut-picking; this is all over abolitionist writing.

A New York mayor who governs in practical terms as a socialist, guided by a consistent and genuine promise to always consider and address the basic needs and hopes of everyday New Yorkers? Crazy, surreal shit.

But Fiorello LaGuardia is smiling somewhere tonight.

After reading this post, it was revealed to me in a terma that JB Pritzker is an emanation of Padmasambhava, destined to subdue and pacify the incarnate demonic energies of Mar a Lago and bring about the flowering of the lotus of enlightenment in America.

Defend and protect the motherfucking AFSCME video.

Save it to a USB drive.

Write it to a tape backup.

Print out every frame on glass and record the audio to vinyl.

Unions are not good because unions are always right or infallible -- unions are good because a balance of power between worker's unions, capital's management, and people's government produces a better result than letting capital do whatever it wants unchecked.

The urban planning profession is so fun. Imagine if microbiology departments at universities graduated students that denied the germ theory of disease.
It turns out that this woman has a PhD in urban planning 🙃
Working in the environmental field but opposing a bus rapid transit project and new apartments in your neighborhood should frankly get you blacklisted until the end of time

Keynesianism is like Ozempic in that it's something that works but makes people mad because they want moral hazard to be involved
There’s a certain kind of person who thinks Keynesian stimulus is “putting off” a necessary correction and I’m always amazed how many of them there are.

"I might bankrupt a casino or two, but I'll do it one well-played hand at a time. Not like some tangerine hack who has to file Chapter 11 time and again."

From this moment forward, he's BlackJack Pritzker. On campaign lit, lapel pins and bumper stickers. Shit, it worked well enough for Pershing.

Anyone who can take a casino for $1.4 in blackjack, playing at house odds, is fit to be president of these United States. Unlike, say, some grifting moron who is granted a gaming license, and at house odds, runs it into bankruptcy.

legitimately i really do wish people would stop mistaking their own major depressive disorder for politics. it would be better for themselves and also the world
I feel like there's just a segment of the population, trans or cis or otherwise, who will always insist that being happy is fundamentally a character flaw that implies you are insufficiently aware of/don't care enough about the world's problems

Truly amazing how many people take this statement as an insult to unions or to Americans. Or an opportunity to let me know that Americans suck. Why do analysis of society and how it changes when you can do a crude morality play instead?
Why doesn't the US have a general strike? Well you can point to culture or whatever but I think structure is of not immediate use here: does the US have organizations and institutions it can use to network, organize and mobilize a general strike? No.
