The Making of a Crisis: Unpacking Sudan's Neglected War. A panel with activist and co-founder of Sudan Bukra TV Husam Mahjoub, who will speak to the role of the UAE in the war in Sudan and Humanitarian Aid and Development Expert Iman Ahmed, who will speak to the humanitarian situation. This will be followed by a Q&A facilitated by student leaders from the Sudanese Student Union. See poster below for more details. The panel will take place on Monday, Sept. 22 at 6 pm at the William Doo Auditorium on the St. George campus. Delicious Sudanese refreshments and snacks will be served. The event is free and you can register here to hold your place.

Testimonies from our patients describing their experiences at the GHF distribution sites depict a level of dehumanisation and violence, both indiscriminate and targeted, which is beyond disturbing. As described by MSF’s medical coordinator, our teams were mentally prepared for responding to conflict — but not to civilians killed and maimed while seeking aid. They were not prepared for treating starving and unarmed Palestinians who had been gunned down as if they were animals, often while penned into metal-gated areas. The medical data is clear. This is not aid. It is orchestrated killing.

Tweet: After hearing that some orgs are getting reversal notices of program terminations, some are now getting RECALLS of those reversals. One organization got a stop work order, then a waiver, then a termination, then a termination reversal, then a note that the reversal was in error.

The ceasefire has given us some peace, but it has not restored what we lost. Food is still scarce, and medical aid is slow to arrive. Living under occupation and siege was never easy: We have long lived with the fear of what tomorrow may bring, with the terror that everything might collapse at any moment. Now, that has happened. Everything has changed—and the change is evident not only in the ruined streets, but also within us. Happiness has disappeared. The pain of loss accompanies us at all times.

The American people elected Donald J. Trump to be President of the United States and gave him a mandate to increase the impact of every federal taxpayer dollar. In Fiscal Year 2024, of the nearly $10 trillion that the Federal Government spent, more than $3 trillion was Federal financial assistance, such as grants and loans. Career and political appointees in the Executive Branch have a duty to align Federal spending and action with the will of the American people as expressed through Presidential priorities. Financial assistance should be dedicated to advancing Administration priorities, focusing taxpayer dollars to advance a stronger and safer America, eliminating the financial burden of inflation for citizens, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, ending “wokeness” and the weaponization of government, promoting efficiency in government, and Making America Healthy Again. The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve. This memorandum requires Federal agencies to identify and review all Federal financial assistance1 programs and supporting activities consistent with the President’s policies and requirements.2 For example, during the initial days of his Administration, President Donald J. Trump issued a series of executive orders to protect the American people and safeguard valuable taxpayer resources, including Protecting the American People Against Invasion (Jan. 20, 2025), Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid (Jan. 20, 2025), Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements (Jan. 20, 2025), Unleashing American Energy (Jan. 20, 2025), Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing (Jan. 20 Contents of letter continued
