I'll be screaming for #Germany in the #WEuro2025 semi-final tonight. If #England play Germany in the final, we'll stand a really good chance of winning it. #Spain would be a different proposition. #Lionesses

Health and education in Africa to be hit hard, increasing the risk of disease and death, as UK cuts foreign aid in favour of spending on defence, under pressure from the US. The UK is one of the wealthiest nations on Earth, can we not spend on both? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Africa to be hit hard as UK foreign aid cuts revealed
A Foreign Office report shows the biggest cuts will come in Africa with less spent on women's health and water sanitation.

More sad news for Liverpool FC. Joey Jones, who inspired what is possibly the club's greatest ever banner, has died at the age of 70. Also a legend of Wrexham FC and capped 72 times for Wales, he will be missed by all who knew him. My sympathies to his family and friends.

What fresh hell is this? People go to their GP for medical care, eg diagnoses and prescriptions, not work coaching. Let GPs focus on the role that they trained for instead of burdening them with extra responsibilities.

GPs to offer coaching advice to get sick people back to work
The aim is to help people return to work quicker and reduce the length of time they need fit notes - better known as sick notes.

Donald Trump dodged the draft with a phony diagnosis of bone spurs. Superman my ass.

Easy solution to this problem. If you want to eat English food while you are on holiday, take a holiday in England. There are plenty of seaside towns in the UK that would welcome your custom if scoffing bacon and eggs is an essential part of your vacation.

Admits that Trump is a pedophile, says that Trump 'comes awfully close' to perfection. What is wrong with these people?

'The World's Highest IQ Record Holder' claims that Jesus is returning 'soon', with 'soon' meaning the year 2060, using pseudo-mathematical psychobabble (the 'global prophetic awareness rate' 🤣) and Biblical verses to support his prophecy. Is this the best Christians have got?

Planet Earth has reached Peak Stupid. The lunatics truly are running the asylum. Stop the world, I want to get off.

Why is Jesus smiling? Is he happy that the girls have died? He's one sick fuck if he is. Not that he is in any way real, of course.

My thoughts are with those who lost family and friends in the 7 July 2005 attacks on London, and with those who live with physical and mental injuries sustained on that terrible day. May they receive the strength they need to get through today.

I don't like using a tragedy in which a group of children at a Christian camp have apparently been washed away in the Texas floods, to make an atheist point, but the question must be asked:

Why is it that the Christian god could not or did not want to protect his own followers?

28 Years Later is a superb movie. A worthy addition to the 28... series. Danny Boyle smashes it out of the ballpark again. Watch out for Alfie Williams, the teenage star of the show. He has the potential for an outstanding acting future.

Palestine Action, whose activists have done little more than attach themselves to fences and throw paint around, is now proscribed as a terrorist organisation in the UK, categorising it with al-Qaeda and Islamic State. Is anything more absurd than this?
