Literally right now, the news is full of stories of Afghan Zero Units, which our special forces and CIA trained to go around slaughtering civilians with no accountability. Your willful blindness to what the military does doesn't mean much.

That's extremely optimistic of you. What, based on the last 100 years, makes you think anyone in the US military or govt, actually cares about laws, morals, or rules of engagement?

I walked out of lunch at my brother’s with a pile of leftovers, turned around, and knocked. “So, do y’all know whose dog that is in your driveway?”

Looks like a stray/dump, they’re at the emergency vet now.

So, do businesses along that street offer bathrooms? Has the city council built public bathrooms? Unless there’s somewhere easy and close to use the toilet, you cannot solve this problem.

There’s a commercial for AI where it generates a cooking schedule for you, and if I don’t trust my OWN math for that why would I trust theirs?

It got inside of the closed cabinets, we still aren’t sure how. Dogs were outside, that and the “no hospital” were the only good luck that day.

Holiday cooking is an adventure every time.

Even without sugar, it's sticky brown liquid. I was about as much of a mess as it's possible to be, and I was easy to clean. My dad had to LIFT UP the stovetop a couple days later because pecan fluid had gotten underneath it.

Pan bottom goes up, pie lifts up, pie crust fails, pecan filling goes EVERYWHERE. In the oven, all over the counters, and absolutely SOAKING me.

My mom had used the good pie tin for this. The one where you can push up the base and lift the pie clear of the sides. I was not aware of this when I reached in and pulled the pie onto my oven mitt.

(reminder, everything was barely warm at this point. It's a funny story rather than a hospital one.)

I, thinking fast, grab an oven mitt and go to pull the pecan pie out of the oven. I'm not sure what the fix here is, but certainly continuing to cook the sugar-free pecan pie will not improve matters.

However.

4 of us in 1 kitchen, 3 pies, and my aunt's pecan pie recipe my mom had never made. What could go wrong?

So, she puts the pecan pie in the oven, walks across the kitchen, and says "oh shit, I forgot the sugar!" Which, of course, probably ruins the pie.

Enjoy, it's a real treat!

(also, currently typing up my pecan pie story bc you reminded me of it)
