It's also why I turned into a really solid teacher. When someone got upset that I knew something they didn't, my response wasn't "I'm good at math and you suck." My response was, "Well, let me help you - it's not as hard as you think."

Because some of those kids had total breakdowns in college when they were no longer big fish in a little pond. I was just fine because having to go to a regular, non-magnet school meant I got to grow up like a regular child.

Intellectual intelligence doesn't swap out emotional development.

When I was younger I was upset - most of my friends from K-6 G/T program were heading off to magnet schools and I hated I was going to have to essentially make all new friends - but as an adult I 100% respect their decision.

I was excellent at math and many other things at a very young age. My parents made the conscious decision to keep me in public schools - our public schools were excellent - so I could have normal emotional growth and not thinking that "gifted/talented" meant I didn't have to be kind and thoughtful.

(Them, not you or whoever was using the gosh-darn language...)

Understandable. But also, inane. Kinda petty power trip-ish, too.

What about hand gestures?

My husband's company has to switch to UHC because the provider we're about to lose was going to basically double the price and reduce services.

We're waiting to see how that impacts us going forward. (I'm terrified they won't allow my ongoing PT.)

Followed closely by my second favorite:

Dazel Ash Goat Cheese - an artisanal goat cheese with an edible ash rind that was ridiculously smooth and creamy. Paired with rosemary honey and a piece of shortbread.

I did NOT want to leave my seat. SO MUCH GOOD CHEESE.

(This one was my favorite. I had to restrain myself from picking up another two plates.)

Brie-style Baron Bigod from Fen Farm Dairy sliced open to sandwich a layer of Black Truffle & British Cream Cheese. With charcoal crackers on the side.

I just got to eat at Pick & Cheese in London, so I can absolutely confirm that nothing is as excellent as a huge pile of cheese.

Except for a conveyor of cheese rolling past your seat...

I feel like he could go after Klobuchar's seat in 5 years. That would put some distance between his mayoral time and that campaign, and give him time to build up creds in other spaces.

Too soon to go after Smith's emptying seat, though.

That her administration will now be able to fine the landlords that have let properties fall into decline should help. Without that, the whole "sternly worded letter then criminal charges" thing helped fix that problem not at all.

I’ll support all of our first responders and build strong partnerships with county and state partners to make all of our neighborhoods safer.

We all deserve to feel safe in our neighborhoods. Non-police emergency calls have doubled in the last year. We face continued challenges with mental health and drug use. (cont'd)
