So, as I suspected, the police response to the shootings of Democratic elected officials in Minnesota was actually a complete disaster www.startribune.com/new-details-...

Check him out. Minneapolis can have a Mayor who is unconditionally pro-
LGBTQIA+ and with a record of helping pass strong protections for our community.

Our current Mayor botched the Trans Equity Summit, vetoed an LGBTQIA+ Mental Health Program, and failed to condemn homophobia.
When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.

This week we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of marriage equality and mourned losses like Roe while the Supreme Court decided to restrict access to gender-affirming care for our youth and defund access to abortion care.

Should be a bigger story that John McCain’s widow Cindy McCain went on American TV and called bullshit on Israel’s lies last weekend. Like John McCain’s widow is now to the left of Cory Booker on Israel. That’s how bad the Dems are on Palestinian human rights.
"Cindy McCain, director of the World Food Programme (WFP), rejected Israel’s claims that Hamas is stealing aid entering the Gaza Strip on CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday."

WFP director says Hamas is not stealing aid and Israel has only let ‘drop in the bucket’ aid pass

This is part and parcel to why I cancelled my Google nest service and replaced all my cameras with local recording only devices. I don't want anyone to be able to grab my footage for any use I don't like our approve of.

Check out Reolink if you want good cameras with no external snooping.

I often will look at the stupid AI summary that pops up on google and follow the sources it gives to see if it’s actually right. Most of the time? It isn’t. And even if it’s technically correct, it’s totally missing context clues that are crucial to subject matter understanding and expertise
The number of journalist in this piece who draw the line at “letting AI do the writing” but are fine with “letting AI do the thinking” makes me want to walk into the ocean.

This is how you lose your edge — and the war on our industry as executives try to replace us.
How We’re Using AI
The rapid development of AI is already changing how journalists operate. Reporters, editors, executives, and others across the news industry share their advice on how to engage—and where to draw the l...

Fellow authors, I love you, and I know it feels like we don’t have a choice, but B&N and Am*zon both scheduled sales this week to preempt Independent Bookstore Day, a hugely vital source of income for indie bookstores. Please don’t promote their sales; please promote your local indie this week.

This is such a practical, user-friendly and transparent tool to help people navigate and understand this ongoing and unnecessary disaster. There's something deeply Minnesotan about it, and also deeply teacher-ly, that I kinda feel choked up a little bit.
Minnesota has launched a new tool to track federal funding cuts that affect services ranging from heating assistance and flood mitigation to tracking diseases.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy
