Californian here. There's a deep bench of talented people in politics here that haven't had a chance of moving up til now. Imho, her daughter doesn't have nearly the visibility (yet?) it would take to pursue the seat. Gonna be interesting to see what happens!

Oh, ffs, NPR. Do better. Assign a review like this to someone who actually read the book. Or at least revise the headline so they're not telling on themselves.
