Perhaps instead of orienting this shift in conceptual time around pace, it'd be better to see it as a durational: like spending enough time on something worthwhile; or as frequency, where everything has it's own point of resonance, be that gentle hum or a euphonic treble presence.

"Slowing down" sounds negative, sounds like a defeat. But exiting late capitalism's obsession with clocks (and with greater productivity) is not a form of quitting or giving up. It's a joyous reassertion of the value of being alive in of itself.

Both point to the modern conception of time being detached from natural rhythms, from more intuitive structures of time that don't require external moderation by way of a clock. I've seen calls to return to this natural rhythm as a "slowing down", which in itself sounds like capitalist language.
