The fastest-growing homeless population in America? School-age children.

Last year, student homelessness in California—where rents continue to soar past wages—rose by 20,000, reaching its highest level in a decade.

But sure, keep insisting homelessness is all about mental illness and addiction.

Unacceptable. Seattle City Councilmembers on Housing & Human Services Cmte can and should debate, discuss rental regulation policies, practices. Disagree on policy, vote no on appointments if you must. Don't undermine civic engagement designed to inform city policy affecting >50% Seattle residents.
The city's housing committee, headed by Mark Solomon (and previously Cathy Moore), was unable to meet officially today because committee members Sara Nelson and Rob Saka won't go to the meeting, denying the committee a quorum. Saka is currently sitting in his office.
