The only workaround to this is something I learned last week via an online stranger. Adding an expletive in the search bar seems to bring the old style (actually usable/helpful) results. Ex., “egon schiele paintings dammit” and adding “fucking” also works. At least until they ruin it again.

SAMESIES. I deleted my FB this morning after downloading everything and am in the same thought process as you about IG, though I did logout of it a few days ago for the first time to break from it for a bit.
