Technology scares me.
I write stuff.
My artist friends and I were working on a comic about Native romance set in the world of bull riding.
Life happened and we didn’t get to finish fleshing it out.
Sometimes I’ll find the art again and fall in love with it all over again. Maybe I should pick it back up.

Emperor of the North is a movie I haven’t seen people talk about, but everyone should be talking about.
It’s a great god damn movie with Ernest Borgnine as one sadistic train bull trying to kill the hobo Lee Marvin.
The 70s really had some great movies that inspire!

Me listening to the new The Church on Cumberland Road single by Shenandoah and Nickleback:

Steve McQueen’s final movie, the western Tom Horn, is a movie about what happens to a world that passes you by when you don’t know how to adapt to it.
It’s bleak and I loved it. Hit all the right notes for me.

One thing I found really interesting about All The Presidents Men is that our two leads do not have a lot don’t have a lot of characterization. We don’t know too much about them. Nothing too personal. All we know is their drive for the story and justice.
Brilliant.

I watched Dark Night of the Scarecrow and what I thought was gonna be a cheesy 80s slasher turned into one of the best ghost stories I’ve ever seen!
Wonderfully acted which is heightened by the fantastic cinematography.
It’s truly a hidden gem!
Go check it out on Tubi!

My friend asked me about Indigenous Peoples day and I had just the answer for her.

Watching Army of Darkness (it rips) and it’s still so amazing this movie got made.
It is so wild with a huge scope and scale compared to Evil Dead 2.
Crazy outlandish choices all lined up one right after another. It’s wonderful.
I love movies.

I guess it’s Werewolf Wednesday so here’s a little something:

Pinche Werewolves.

When strange murders hit the barrio and the cops won’t do shit about it, a group of cholos take matters into their own hands to find out who, or what, is preying on the people of the east side.

I have made one of the best purchases of my entire life.

No one looks cooler in a movie than Michael Greyeyes in Blood Quantum.

I made this little video about residential schools. This is personal to me because my grandma was taken by those schools and it forever altered her life.
I wonder what her life, and the lives of so many, would be like if they were never subjected to those abuses.

Went to Fan X and my kid dressed as a Helldiver. They get anxious around people noticing them, but going dressed up was so amazing.
The other Helldivers LOVED them and actively looked for “the little Helldiver.” They were so welcoming and sweet to them.
This was such a great day.

Had to stop working because this idea for a Navajo romance movie opening hit me like a ton of bricks and had to put it together.
This is funny to like, a handful of people, but it makes me laugh.
Just two Navajos in love not looking each other in the eyes.
Cracks me up.

Yo!
I have been getting some of the art for the graphic novel I wrote and it is so damn cool!
To see my words translated into a comic is a dream come true.
I can’t share much, but here is a rough of a page.
I’m floating.

Invited to a craft and horror movie night with friends and family. Painted this.
I highly recommend taking a night to do this.

Just watched When the Wind Blows… god damn. What a maddening and horrifically sad tale.
I think I’m gonna have a cigarette and stare outside.

Oh shit!
Told my kid about Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and they are super fascinated.
Gonna pick it up so we can read it together during October!

Just watched Magnificent Seven (2016) and one of the biggest gripes I have is that they had the Comanche, Red Harvest, not use any of his horsemanship in the big battle.
The Comanche were the best horse warriors since the Mongols and they totally missed that opportunity.

The funny thing about A Million Ways to Die Into the West is that it has some of the best production design in modern westerns.
The costuming, locations, bar fight, all of it. Top notch and it’s in such a goofy, fun, bullshit movie.

Made this video about Tyler Childers and how he donated half a million dollars to Blackfeet nonprofits.
This dude rules so much.
Also his new album, Snipe Hunter, rips so hard.
