If we can only have art from people who "aren't in it for the money" that means we can only have art from privileged middle-class dilettantes. Making art being a viable career is responsible for nearly all worthwhile art, and if it's not a viable career any more we will get drastically less of it.

John Krasinski told this story about being at some party and ripping apart some new “artsy” (his word) movie and PTA took him aside and was like “what are you doing man? We’ve gotta support each other, or we’re just giving them reasons not to make the stuff we want.”
Part of the reason I love PTA, he never bad mouths other movies and only lifts up other films and filmmakers. As we all should be. (I mean those of us working in the industry, critics you keep doing your thing. We need cultural criticism, it is so so valuable!)

This is absolutely real. The current HBO Max version of this "Mad Men" episode "remastered for 4K" did not include an updated visual effects shot, which originally painted out the crew and equipment. Not just that, the HBO Max episode titles/order is jumbled for s01.
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

Not sure she had the lead role in her penultimate year primary nativity either, as claimed. Yes she was Mary but that year the narrator had more lines and thus was quite clearly the lead, not Reeves.

Is it cute for a 49 year old woman to wear those pimple stickers? Wondering if they come in more age appropriate designs, maybe Gisela Graham or Toast could design some. Thoughts on this billion dollar menopause business idea.
