Sorry to bother you, but a cool Civil War design for a pin is an American flag stirred by the breeze with a liberty cap atop the staff. I know you do a lot of work with a plethora of designs. but I would buy 20 of those next payday.

I admit that painting gives me the creeps, but that's more the inherent nature of the thing being depicted. I like the rest of Vereshchagin tho, particularly his Russo-Turkish war stuff, but I don't mind an anti-war message being hammered home with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

There is a Vereshchagin painting of a naked slave boy that is so stereotypically orientalist that I saw it as the cover art for a later edition of Said. But his Central Asian work is very ethnographic, rich in detail, concerned with the pattern of a robe or depicting the right kind of matchlock
