If Forzani & Cattet want to do a follow-up to REFLECTION IN A DEAD DIAMOND showing how John D. defeats Atomik, I would be down for that.

I watch Forzani & Cattet's films for the plot.

When I’m in need of Mirth-Provoking Head Gear next year for Halloween, I will be taking a page out of The BOGIE BOOK. This page specifically:

Letterboxd/Filmsky Last Four Friday

A quartet of recent and current releases, with the latest from Sachs and Reichardt bookending a sneaky documentary and a sappy drama.

They seemed to go out of their way to make him look buff as well, which, as with all such things, is A Choice.

Have made it to episode 15 of MOBILE COP JIBAN, “The Werewolf Loves the Piano,” in which a famous pianist is transformed into Wolfnoid and put to work composing a piece of music that drives people insane. What will Biolon think of next? #Jiban #MobileCopJiban #Tokusatsu

The hooded executioner's appearance in the production of Salomé in Atom Egoyan's SEVEN VEILS is the definition of fleeting (he's in all of two shots), but he is a tasty snack nonetheless.

RIP Tom Stoppard, author of one of my favorite dialogue exchanges in any film.

Today’s other major find: a record I’ve literally been looking for for four decades.

Happened upon this while out doing my Black Friday shopping duties. Had no idea @evandorkin.bsky.social had done another Bill and Ted story.

Letterboxd/Filmsky Last Four Thanksgiving

Not sure what the four-day weekend holds, but the short week leading up to it has had its ups and downs. A tribute to the late Udo Kier flanked by two movies featuring possessed hands, and a latter-day MST3K movie made on the ultra-cheap.

Turned up the brightness and exposure on the last two to better show off the creature designs. Not sure if it’s Udo in the masks, but they deserve to be visible.

MVP of 2021's THE BLAZING WORLD: Udo Kier as Lained, the "darkest tree in the forest of light."
November 24, 2025 at 12:26 PM
At the old site, I once expressed dismay that I didn’t get as many Udo Kier updates as I would like, so someone took it upon themselves to do Udo Kier alerts whenever he gave an interview or showed up in a new movie. That always brightened my day. Rest in peace.

The hooded cultists from the opening scene of 1981's DEMONOID. As this is the only scene in which they appear, the film goes downhill right after.

Letterboxd/Filmsky Last Four Friday

A surreal silent fantasy from René Clair, a supremely entertaining pressure cooker from Josh Safdie, the year’s second oddball from Osgood Perkins, and a cineaste’s dream from Richard Linklater.

They're only seen in the background of one brief shot, but I was naturally intrigued by the white hoods worn by two of the mental patients in René Clair's hour-long silent feature PARIS QUI DORT a.k.a. THE CRAZY RAY.
