Threads is simply better. The algo spin up to find rel content is far superior to bsky. Bummer to note but growing a footprint or network on bsky is super slow.

Last one: counter intrinsic: I reduced who I follow to 14 of you. I know you all personally and I totally dig that fact. Whew!

I'm always on the outskirts of society because I'm always on the outskirts of capitalism. I just don't have a willingness to engage. This has kept me relatively impoverished for my adult life.

Each of us must act in unison in inventive ways. We must become the opposition.
If you make it habit, it gets easier. You learn which local stores have the things most people get on Amazon (hello hardware store!), you learn which impulse items you can live without, you learn to order in advance from a local bookstore, you learn the second hand market.
The hardest part of pushing back on billionaire-owned services is the convenience they offer. Voting with your dollars means accepting some friction in life. I know it’s hard with our packed days, but I see no other real option to make a difference.

The greatest saga of our times, anyway.

Writing, art, etc... in physical form, on paper, is a way to prevent the influence of AI. Like an underground railroad, I can imagine hiding them when the full assault on human Liberty arrives.

A lot of people in bike media and the bike industry (and motocross folks) know Zap Espinoza. His home in Altadena and everything he owns was destroyed in the fires this week and friends have started a fundraising effort to help Zap.

What's funny about Bluesky being like Twitter back in the 2009-2012 era, is that it's just people being able to be people. What killed it was the audience becoming the product for firms that realised the generation of artificial conflict would be advantageous to them. Nothing ever really changes
