I used to tap notes by myself a lot
Important to note is that the DKs changed your Hero Power. Jaina got "2 mana, Deal 1 damage, if it kills a character summon a 3/6 Frost Elemental that Freezes" (+it got Lifesteal)

Gul'Dans was much simpler, "2 Mana, Lifesteal, Deal 3 Damage". Lifesteal heals your hero equal to damage dealt

wait a minute...

I'm actually relatively close to 100% achievements in Battlegrounds, sitting at 94% rn. I gotta finish playing 4k Quilboars, Nagas and Pirates (all are above 3600, Quilboars are at 3956), I'm REALLY far from the last 2 Duos challenges, and then I need to T1 with 13 more Heroes.

and no matter how unbalanced your game is, a player's odds can never drop to 50%. As long as one person has ever picked the less common option, you're always going to have the baseline 50% chance of being happy from winning the flip + whatever percent chance your opponent gives you your preference
November 5, 2024 at 7:05 AM
And this applies to your opponent as well! So if the game decides who goes first by itself, players will get what they wanted 50% of the time. Yet in a perfectly balanced game, just having the option to decide whether you want to go first or second gives both players a 75% chance (pre-flip).

ok im laying in bed still thinking about this, so one last example. Lets say your game is balanced, and people pick to go 1st 50% of the time. If you win the coin flip, there's a 100% chance to get your choice. If you lose, there would be a 50% chance. So you have a 75% chance to get what you wanted

And if you're the player who's running that 1/500 deck, you really get screwed over. Your chances of going 2nd go from nearly guaranteed to a 50/50.
November 5, 2024 at 4:40 AM
However, there's this one gimmicky jank deck that actually wants to go second. Maybe you can expect to run into it once every... 500 games you play.

You still have the 50% chance to go first if you win the flip, but if you lose there's still that 1/500 chance you go first despite losing the flip.

For example, let's say there's a game that's super unbalanced. There are almost no reasons to not pick "I'm going first". So, whenever you win the toss, you pick to go first.
November 5, 2024 at 4:37 AM
It might be easier to program one player getting the "heads, you go first" prompt and the other gets "tails, you go second", but there's a difference between this and giving players the choice.

If you have players choose, each player will ALWAYS have over a 50% chance to get what they wanted

Fun fact, I own 0 pieces of Bandori merch and the only Macross merch I own is an adorable Freyja keychain Matsuri gave to me.

But for Million Arthur? I got this huge ass art book 🤭

Not that Im anti-progressive btw, the emphasis was meant to be on the word "outspoken". I don't think I'm gonna change anyone's world views through tweets or whatever, I'm just cool with whatever other people wanna do if it doesn't affect me, and I think it would be nice if more people felt that way

Otherwise I'm looking for some Moltres EX to try my luck on some coin flips.

I'd also like to try finding a way to make Control work, the only option I can think of is Hypno stun. Unfortunately you cant win by deckout in PTCGP...

Dugtrio is effectively a worse Pincurchin, but only needs 1 energy

Genuinely tempted to swap out the Venusaur line for something like... fucking Parasect once I get a bigger Trainer collection.

It looks so boring and underwhelming, but 120 HP is pretty good. Smacking for 80 is... fine? It's better than Ivysaur I guess.

I'm not liking running multiple Stage 2 lines in decks since theres no evolution searching. I wish there was some bulkier basic Grass types, preferably one that took like 2-4 energies to attack so you need acceleration from Lilligant. Exeggutor EX only needs 1, so thats why I went Venusaur
