Yesterday was a bit of a whirlwind as I found myself in the midst of London Book Fair for the launch of the book Yussef Rafik and I worked on, How to be an Eco Explorer, as well as the imprint @moonandbirdbooks.bsky.social. Loved meeting so many people I’ve been working with for the past year!

Efficiency doesn’t create more time, it just speeds up capital, so slow down and reject AI. Foster meaningful friendships with others in resistance who understand what we’re up against, and build those networks of trust.

I’ve received my advance copy of a book I worked on last year! ‘How to be an eco explorer’, published by new imprint Moon + Bird, and written by Yussef Rafik.
This is one of my favourite spreads, I loved the challenge to incorporate lots of cold climate animals from around the world into one image.

There’s no leader in a murmuration, but starlings on the outer edges of the group have a part to play in steering them, they are a complex adaptive system.
It seems to me reflective of grass-roots organising, where change comes through the outer parts, to ripple through the rest of the community.

Today’s trespass was on the grounds of Avening Court, a property originally owned by Brictric, Saxon lord of Avening. William the conqueror and Queen Matilda later resided there after Matilda threw Brictic in a dungeon for not reciprocating her feelings.
