Ouch but healing nicely. Cyst against spinal cord cost me months of work of next book. Back at it and now hope for an early June release!

Health issues (something like carpal tunnel that needs looked at) are keeping me from my next novel so I revisited the covers of the first three in the series.

Good thing I write moody mysteries. Turns out inspiration is just outside your back door on a good day.

Back to the paying job for a month, will be cooking for nine guys on a towboat presently traveling the Ohio River. Will have 3 hrs. Daily to work on the eighth book in the Cadillac Holland Mystery series. Looking at an August publication, in time for the 20th anniversary of Katrina

I have published seven novels in a New Orleans based detective series, but I am still paying my bills standing at a stove. As anyone in New Orleans can tell you, food is as much a part and character of any story as the hero.

Dusted off eighth novel project. I had a head of steam on it a year ago and then wound up writing a different book. This one will start a whole new story arc for my characters so I have to get it right.

The view from today’s writing room. It is always worthwhile to look up from your work. One more chapter under down, but closer to the opening than the breathtaking finale.
