Það er svo sorlegt að horfa uppá umræðuna um þessi mál þegar lausnin blasir við - búið að samþykkja hana - áfangaskipta henni og kalla hana borgarlínu. En svo koma popúlískir stjórnmálamenn og eyðileggja framganginn.

We at the MFRI work with sea trout as well, yes. There is not as much focus as on the Atlantic salmon but we work with the five native fish species in our waters - Salmon, brown trout, arctic charr, three-spined sticklebacks and eel. And some more recent additions with flounder and pink salmon.

It's going to be an interesting meeting when all the data across the North Atlantic will be compiled for the WGNAS - ICES report.

Its very worrying - at the same time it is very interesting to see the ~30% increase we had in Iceland this season (2024) - the total catch being close to the average from 1974-2024.
