Yeah! Way more of a hive of scum and villainy than Undermine, which feels much more industrial, with very little outright organized crime presence. Gadgetzan could be split into distinct territories with the Goblin stuff binding it all together like Hearthstone (+ an actual beach resort to the side)

At least they've got all those fresh Undermine assets to use if they decide to give us an updated Gadgetzan. No one could even cry about Goblin fatigue if they DID decide to do it. Undermine just left me hungry for more.

I can SENSE someone who fancies themself very funny adding two hands to that image and thinking they've cracked the joke of the century.
November 11, 2025 at 7:08 PM
(all of this is actually very unlikely as the Foreman has his own wood source in the Overgrowth of the Barrens, employing Quilboar Thornweavers to produce lumber from the super fertile land)
November 10, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I feel like it would be a "Be defeated by" followed by "Defeat" with Foreman Gridcog. I imagine he'd lose an Ashenvale lumber caravan to an ambush, be pissed and come back with actual heavy equipment that would make another ambush very costly.

I try to have good faith, but I can't see this going any other way than him getting beat and then bowing his head. It's the most boring outcome, which makes it very likely in my head. I HOPE I am wrong

I do like the idea of him losing an arm like Zul'jin for that symbolism that I've seen brought up
November 10, 2025 at 5:49 PM
I hope so, though I can't say I'm very excited for this interesting character to "See the light" and fix his wicked ways. These sorts of conflicting characters are always at their best when they're high on their own delusions and way of thinking. I never really like the "fixed" version. Sylvanas...

I'm SO scared for the guy. The dynamic of having two leader figures that represent two different ways of doing things is so good, but they're painting Zul'jan SO HEAVILY with obvious villain flags. Goddammit, I just want a hostile character to FOR ONCE live so bad.

I'm praying they give us this new emote they have on the Midnight beta build. Arms crossed in stern disappointment is the Foreman's most common pose.

I wish they'd give us other NPC animations and stuff like being able to do casting animations that just loop with spell effects.

The devs have been very good to RPers the last couple expansions. It has been lovely to get more tools for our little adventures. Even the /lean emote. Hot damn.

I was there as Foreman Gridcog and he is a hardened (some would say dead inside) bastard. But Zol'khan, the PLAYER, oh yeah. The initial hounding by the Worgen was terrifying.

Its not often that one gets a chance to dip their character in a situation that's completely different from the norm, but having my run of the mill engineer going dream diving was definitely an adventure to remember.

Tonight in RP: Enter Sandman

Still deep in the twisted version of the Emerald Dream, our company delved deep into the cursed barrow that was tupposed to house the source of the evil haunting us. A Druid of the Scythe. One of the ancient worgen from the War of the Satyr.

This one is actually one of my favorites, because of the horror movie atmosphere where we realized we were completely surrounded and harried from all sides by crazed, ancient Worgen. It had some genuine moments of panic mixed in.

Tonight in RP: Nights Into Dreams

The source of the evil haunting the lumber camp is an ancient Druid of the Scythe, or their spirit at least, that was awoken by BOOMTEC's Venture Co hires. Now, surrounded by the ancient worgen outside, we'd to go into the Dream to face the master of the pack

We've also had some involvement with Kaldorei themed forest spirits. Most recently was this multi part campaign where a sub-contracted Venture Co lumber yard in Ashenvale was suddenly beset by Worgen. The OLD kind.

Tonight in RP: Dreams and Shadows

A Venture Co lumber extraction company in BOOMTEC Inc's employ went missing recently while reclaiming an abandoned lumber camp in Ashenvale. Our company, of course had to go in to check the situation.

We do veer off into psychological horror more often than one would think, so I can totally agree with you on that.

I think this is what I love most about WoW RP. The way we can have a whole slew of different GENRES. Every event I see you involved with have a high fantasy LOTR energy to them. Meanwhile BOOMTEC just embodies that tongue-in-cheek Goblin energy that shifts between crime drama and slapstick comedy.
November 8, 2025 at 9:49 PM
P.S
This specific event took place late at night, so the theme was for everyone to show up in their sleep wear. The Foreman is a workaholic, so he would obviously be working late and show up in his usual overalls. DEEP LORE.

Thanks! It's fun to see how creative the others get. Foreman Gridcog is far too much of a stick in the mud to change his look, but the rest definitely make up for it.

Though, when Gridcog DOES change his look it's always funny. Like him wearing a wig for the Hallow's End night. "HE'S GOT HAIR!"

I'll also add that having decor that are just particle effect that we could place would be rad. (obviously interior only because we don't want to crash the servers)

Stuff like this would be especially huge for using housing instances for RP events. "Escape the HOUSE FIRE" type situation.

The bog creatures are such a mood.

Definitely need a skybox room with Undermine stuff in the background. For SURE.
