Lake Michigan did not disappoint.
After some time away, it is so good to be back.

Also, so far, the Paths of Glory Rally the Troops implementation is fantastic!
Up next for HotT, War & Peace! Nappy getting some time in the limelight.

For its 45 birthday, War & Peace got a 7th(!) edition. If you have thoughts on this classic, we'd love to hear them and will share the best comments / questions on W&P next episode.
Thank you for the kind words and giving us a listen.

Even though I probably won't play 95% of the games they talk about, I'm really enjoying @historytable.bsky.social . They talk about wargames in an accessible and engaging way, so even if you're just curious to have a look into the wargaming world, they're worth checking out.

Someone once told me that Vijayanagara killed ABB for them (not naming names but it was @billsimoni.bsky.social ).

Personally, I don't see it. Although Vija is a distilled COIN experience and plays mutch faster, ABb is still my favorite COIN.

Curious how you all feel after your plays.
Recording a new episode of History on the Table for the first time in 2025 this Friday.

We're back.
Today is the HotT Clash of Champions!

Pacific War knocked off Roads to Gettysburg II. Empire of the Sun took down The U.S. Civil War.

Now we have a clash of Pacific Theater titans. Herman v. Herman. Pacific War v. Empire of the Sun.

Which game are you picking?
We we are gearing up for a 1-on-1 play of @pelgranepress.bsky.social 's Swords of the Serpentine. Saying I'm looking forward to running @blacklodgerpg.bsky.social through it is an understatement.

The setting development and world building is pretty damn brilliant.

Let's get this baby up and running again just in time for spooky season!
Rebel Fury and NATO: The Cold War Goes Hot were each featured as a History on the Table episode. Check them out, I still dig both games.

Close Action. Fun. Chaotic. Not sure why but I was very skeptical of CA when ever it was first proposed we play and then I quickly fell in love.
Weimar: The Fight for Democracy. Another game that just hit really well. I do wonder about its depth but I only see that becoming a concern after many, many plays which probably isn't going to happen for some time.
Europa Universalis. If I did rank `24 games, hard to imagine anything else as #1. EU resonated very well with me and it kind of kills Here I Stand (at least for now)

Other than USCW, I haven't had a desire to play board games. EU is something I'm scheduling to play. That means something
I have a lot of fun compiling my favorite new to me games each year. Going back and trying to revisit all of those games over 8 months later... is a lot. Here are some stand out new to me in 2024... 8 months late... in no particular order.
First up, the History on the Table March Madness bracket still happened. We take the Every Wargame Every list and run it through our Discord community each year.

The U.S. Civil War was our 2025 winner!

2022: Roads to Gettysburg II
2023: Pacific War
2024: Empire of the Sun
In the... 7 months 😳between episodes, we missed a lot of our annual content. We have a lot of catching up to do...
