Confident bald man and diamond in the rough.
Was in a pub just outside Cambridge (UK) and saw this on the wall. Reminded me of your drawings

Just finished this. Very interesting book. Some excellent ideas, that as a race, we won't adopt because we're too selfish but it's great to know that we weren't always like this. The Middle Ages needs a serious reassessment.
Great recommendation from Michael Riley's @histassoc.bsky.social talk.

I just love it when you're out and about and the local history links so well to the national history.

Keeping myself busy on the train with Becky Taylor's 'Another Darkness, Another Dawn'.
It doesn't matter how many times you read about Nazi policies towards Gypsies, none of the horror diminishes.

Now we're hitting the sweet spot. Proper local history in your GCSE. @petejackson.bsky.social doing a great job of showing how you can do this.

@petejackson.bsky.social in full flow is beautiful to watch. Learning about weaving local history across the curriculum.

Friends of Wisbech General Cemetery (a Garden Cemetery) have started writing resources for teachers. There is a Remembrance Day assembly, aimed at primary, ready. It could be tweaked to suit your own locality. Let me know if you use it.
