Eureka County Sheriff James Rattazzi, 43, died in a car crash just outside of Eureka, NV after an 80 mile drive returning from Palisade on Dec 6, 1938. t.co/p9n0Latdy7 #EOW
He is interred in the Catholic Cemetery in Eureka, NV next to his wife Ada who passed away in 1953.

"Queen of the Washoe Basketmakers," Dat So La Lee (aka Dabuda and Louise Keyser) died at Carson City, NV on Dec 6, 1925. She was believed to be 96 at the time of her death, and lived in the Carson Valley all her life. t.co/dJY5gsKLji

Serial killer Carroll Cole was executed at Nevada State Prison in Carson City, NV on Dec 6, 1985. Cole had 15 victims in four states. He was the first to be executed in Nevada by lethal injection. Cole did not pursue any appeal of his sentence in Nevada. t.co/5CKTh1KU1z

At the National Governors Assoc meeting on Dec 5, 1912, Nevada Governor Tasker Oddie defended Nevada's divorce laws, saying, "since wife slavery has gone out of fashion... the demand has come for a new adjustment of privileges."

On Dec 5, 1862, the Nevada Territory Legislature passed an Act to change the name of Lake County to Roop County to honor Isaac Roop. t.co/FEy2jP6acL
Most of Roop County would later be deemed to be in California. The part in Nevada would be absorbed into Washoe County.
