Jon says ‘I once tried writing a different story in Dorset dialect that I heard and used as a kid on the Isle of Portland. But the people who read it just laughed. For them it was just talking pirate. In Spring Marrying we get a flavour of Devon dialect without turning every speech into a comedy! 🤣
