Associate Professor of History. Working on a history of abortion in Missouri. Everything here reflects my thoughts/opinions alone.
Yes, excellent work! And I've looked at Shannon Withycombe, James Mohr, etc. But not quite as helpful on this part of the discussion...

It's interesting how different states/nations handle these issues differently!

The state of Missouri answered this for me. State law prohibits identifying minor victims. The archive is redacting the file and I've deleted her name. We're also not supposed to identify non- state officials in those cases.

Oh absolutely. I will check out her piece! This chapter is in its infancy so I have time to decide what I think will be best. She didn't even have a dying declaration so she can't even tell her story that way. At the end of the day it's just so sad and tragic.

Yeah, it definitely is. This girl was a victim of her grandfather and she died during an abortion. I definitely don't want to dehumanize her, but I also don't want to almost re-victimize her. And if I use his name and not hers? I think that's unacceptable.

That's what I'm hearing from some folks! I think this is #1 on the list of options. Thank you!

Yeah, I considered that one. Why I liked BITS was that it connected lots of movements - FSM, anti war, Civil Rights, Black Power, counterculture. It's excellent but I just can't watch it yet again...
