I’m not embarrassed. I had nothing to do with enabling either of them. I’m furious, not embarrassed.

Nor do I seek any other than fair discussion, my own apologies if I came across any other way. But on this I think we just disagree. Fox didn’t betray me, I hold them in contempt. BBC betrayed me (in the wider sense) because I expected something from them. They gave Fox and GB new ammo. That’s bad.

I was already mindful and aware. I don’t see the need for a debate. The trenchant bias of those media outlets is so blatant they don’t even deny it. That doesn’t excuse or mitigate the BBC decision to “race down to compete in the gutter.” And tbh, on this issue, there I stand.

What in my comment made you think I was in any way excusing Fox or any other outlet? Do you always impose binaries? And if you have to do the right thing “reluctantly,” how sincere are you? People are criticizing the BBC because they expected it to hew to a higher standard. You know this.

The point is that one outlet was supposed to be above that sort of behaviour, and it leveraged that reputation to its own benefit.

What does “negotiate a long lasting peace with Putin” mean? What agreement has he ever kept? What would those terms look like now? Your comments are tankie nonsense.

No need for the BBC to make it easier for them.

I don’t cheerlead for politicians, I analyze their behaviour for myself. You do you.

Hey Mark, how does the budget help your personal wealth? Are your companies going to benefit from the Fed shacks that you will spend billions on? Has anyone from CBC asked you these questions? Of course not! My great grand children will be paying off this deficit.

So we can count on you to speak truth to power and critically hold him accountable then …

That’s nice. But it’s a local recreation facility. Your challenge as the national leader
is to drive and attract investment that will help increase our productivity, expanding our output and economy. Build a pipeline, sell LNG to Germany, build that high speed rail line. Do something important.
