Got some photos as well! In all my years here, I’ve never actually gone to the maple leaf illumination stuff at Shukkeien Garden, so I had a properly good time

Why on earth have I not heard about this film until now?! One of the most beautiful pieces of cinema I’ve ever seen, hands down. Japan is doing a limited run right now so if you haven’t seen it, go YESTERDAY

Whoa whoa whoa what? In this economy?!
The Japanese government is considering raising the fee for permanent residency to as high as ¥300,000 and that for changing or extending one’s residential status to ¥100,000. 👉 ebx.sh/n6tS24

This thread is amazing
It's believed we've lost the true name for bear in Germanic languages - "bear" roughly means "brown one," a euphemism used instead of the true name because it was believed that saying their true name would summon the bear.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

One of the best things about Hiroshima is the abundance of riverside green spaces where you can have a casual BBQ. Never thought November would be peak BBQ weather but here we are 😂

The fact that humans measure everything doesn't mean the universe must be be measured. Or that all you can do is measure it.

What I mean is. We measure time because we CAN, but the universe is under no obligation to make sense to us, certainly not according to how we decide to measure it.

Amazing, no notes, I do not desire to learn anything else about this story, for it would only detract from the perfection on this headline.

Good literary translation requires understanding (language, culture, genre--on both sides of the translation) and an ability to write well. "AI" can't do that. There are no shortcuts. Treat your work and foreign language readers with the respect they deserve. You won't fool anyone with this.

The trailer had me hooked just from the stellar font choice alone. Film was atmospheric, incredible set, costume, and makeup design, along with all the attention to detail that we know and love from Guillermo Del Toro. Also Mia Goth and her insect-inspired looks were *chef’s kiss*
