Companies hyping "AI-only" are quietly adding visual editors. No-code tools are adding AI assistants. Code platforms are adding both. The walls are coming down.

We won't be debating this five years from now. The best tools will allow you to switch between these approaches.

When humans talk to each other, we already have massive misunderstandings. If that becomes our only way to program computers, we're screwed.

The cognitive load matters, too. With code, you manage complexity in your head. With visual builders, you scan the UI. With natural language, you constantly rephrase until the AI understands. Each has its mental tax.

AI shines when you stare at a blank screen, thinking, "where do I start?" Say, "create a customer dashboard that shows monthly revenue", and you've skipped hours of initial setup.

But once you're in the details? You want precision.

When you need a specific colour, do you want to say, "Make it redder... no, even redder," or click the exact shade on a colour wheel? One is efficient while the other is painful.
