the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.
Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?

Never again is now.
Epstein matters, but there's a much greater story of American moral depravity that ought to be leading the news

America is building an archipelago of squalid concentration camps. No one knows where this will end. The time to scream 'Never again'? Now!

Andrea Pitzer literally wrote the book on concentration camps. I talked to her about how they came to America.

NEW: Important Context spoke with a dozen people working at NIH about Director Jay Bhattacharya.

The descriptions were universally unflattering, painting the health economist as ineffectual, dishonest, ideological, arrogant, and uncommitted to science.

The thing about watching a JD Vance speech is that everyone knows he’s a little pig man. Everyone knows he exists to squeal for Trump‘s amusement. No one respects him and he clearly doesn’t respect himself.

Rumeysa Ozturk should be observing Ramadan and breaking fast with her community. Not being snatched off the street by ICE agents.

Release her NOW.

As Jews, we will say NO every time Trump tries to use our safety as a smokescreen to advance his fascist agenda.

Schumer is a disgrace. Trump literally said he’s not Jewish.
Ah yes, who could forget the obvious distinction between being an antisemite and "creating the feeling of safe harbor for far-right elements who unabashedly or in coded language express antisemitic sentiments"

Falling for “the waste inspector (who has the sole, unchecked power to define what waste is and defines it as anything he doesn’t like) sure is finding a lot of waste!“ doesn’t even rise to the level of the wallet inspector. It’s “got your nose” level. Infant shit.

expanding on this. many publications are referring to this as "temporary" or a "pause". that's like saying the president is "temporarily" closing congress or "pausing" an election. these aren't cases where "temporary" has any meaning.

tl;dr if you already have a housing shortage, then raising the median income will actually *cause* homelessness. The only way out of this trap is to ensure that housing production keeps pace with wage growth.
