Unlike Rep senators + reps lying on national media outlets, I actually dealt with Medicaid work requirements as a legal aid attorney when they caused mass chaos in 2018 in Arkansas. I wrote about it in this recent NYT OpEd. Any chance a major network would have me on to shed light + tell truth?

Relentless positivity, an unapologetic focus on economic justice, and widespread inclusion wins! Zohran provides some hope and a path forward when we all really really need it. Good stuff.

Don’t miss this brilliant report that names the myths propping up AI’s current “inevitable” trajectory, exposes how Big Tech is rigging the system, & outlines what we must do to take back our future from unaccountable power.
NEW REPORT: Artificial Power, our 2025 Landscape Report, is out.

Today’s AI isn’t just being used by us, it’s being used on us. We urgently need to reclaim public power over the future trajectory of AI. Another path is possible.

Route 50 coverage of @localprogress.bsky.social and @ainowinstitute.bsky.social report on how local elected officials can take action to steer the adoption of AI and protect constituents from the harms.
Report: How local governments can prioritize responsible AI adoption
Local officials can play a role in how AI tools are adopted and deployed among government agencies, even amid the federal government’s efforts to ease regulations on the tech, a new report says.

“The provision…would strip the public of any meaningful recourse in the face of AI-related harm…

It’s a decade-long permission slip for corporate impunity. The provision is a message to the states…shut up while Big Tech writes its own rules or continues to lobby Congress to have none at all.”

The stakes are high. Time to focus on shaping the direction of AI is now.
In the 19th century, Luddism raised the question of how to maintain the legitimacy of an economic system where workers create value yet remain subjugated to the market and the prerogatives of capitalism. Now, A.I. poses the same inquiry.
How to Survive the A.I. Revolution
The Luddites lost the fight to save their livelihoods. As the threat of artificial intelligence looms, can we do any better?

On X, VP Vance falsely claims that Mr. Abrego was a "convicted MS-13 gang member."

In fact, Mr. Abrego has no criminal record at all. He was arrested (but not charged) while looking for day labor outside a Home Depot in 2019. Local cops then said a "confidential informant" said he was in MS-13.

As a former member of the San Francisco Democratic Central Committee, I’m incensed by the party’s current leadership and will reregister as an independent if there are not major changes and consequences for Schumer, et al.’s stunning betrayal.
Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Cool so what happens if GOP attach a national abortion ban to a CR? You'll vote for that too?

🚮
My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.
