I am not disputing that she had a perceived privilege - billions across the world have (had) a privilege of basically free travel to the US. I'm not agreeing with your interpretation (based on race) being more valid than any other and that it can even be deduced from her statement.

And of course the US admin is bat shit insane and traveling to the US has changed dramatically for anyone.

Truth is, the relationship between the US and other countries is deteriorating fast. Racial bias or white privilege is not the issue here and distracts from what really is happening - the rest of the world can not rely on the US to act in good faith and based on our decade long relationship.

I wouldn't be too quick to judge. In general, coming from Germany, it was virtually unheard of to have major issues travelling into the US until now - so having the same expectation is not unreasonable. I travelled many times without issue, have been held only once due to some visa mix up.
