Slowly reviewing every video game I play, just my opinions.

lmao I forgot I played this.
Like, we all knew this was gonna be mid as heck right? I can’t really recommend this to anyone, if you like Borderlands maybe pick it up on sale.
2/5, it could’ve been so much better.

I saw this rated highly on Metacritic and went in with 0 expectations. This game tells a great story about sports and people, and does so in such a fun and interactive way.
While it was a very short game, I think it told the story well with the time it had.
4/5, GOOOOAAALLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!

This takes a lot of great stuff from Legends: Arceus and takes a more battle centric spin on it, which I enjoyed!
It had a lot of the Pokémon problems (no VA, everything looks kinda weird), but I really liked the core mechanics of everything.
3/5, play Arceus first tho.

I started playing this in early access, but have put a ton of time into it since its release in September. What a treat this game is, great for long sessions or just jamming a quick couple runs.
Top 3 for my fav games this year, easily a 5/5.

TINY BOOK SHOP
This is a very cute and heartwarming game that I would rec to any cozy gamer/book enthusiast. My main advice would be to take this game slow, don’t rush anything.

Okay, actual review time. Is this GOTY? Probably not, but it definitely is one of the best games this year, and will be a Switch staple like Mario Odyssey was.
Super fun movement and combat, and so much stuff to see and collect. If you can, you should play this game.

This is the game of the year for me, at least so far. Still a lot of time left but it will be hard to top.
If you’re still waiting to play, do it. This is a game I will recommend to people for years to come.
5/5, fantastic.

Okay, I enjoyed the missions and gameplay, but the story really lost me around the end of the 2nd act.
I’m not gonna spoil it obvi, but it really kinda tainted my enjoyment of the rest of the game. Still, the missions were fun and pretty creative so 👍👍 there!
Probably a 3/5

Well then first play Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, and then play The Ghost of Glamping.
Both games are an easy 5/5
(Also Brian David Gilbert voices an alligator and that’s pretty neat!)

If you like puzzle games, having to keep a journal while you play, and specifically the 1st half of Betrayal at the House on the Hill, you will love this game.

Guardian Sunmare is wild, and Gloryheath Lynx feels like a mythic uncommon sometimes.

If you plan on building them however, play Words of Wisdom. This card has essentially won me a game and has been very strong every time I’ve drawn it.

Another in the list of old games Rusty has never played. This game was fun, but I think my lack of nostalgia glasses may have impacted my experience.
Cool soundtrack, fun gameplay, but some moments just felt like a bore. Either too repetitive or too wordy. Otherwise, neat.

Anyway this card is badass.

I wanted to play this as a quick break between sessions of the next game I'll post about, but I wasn't ready for it to be as long as it was.
While similar to Unpacking and A Little to the Left this game's puzzles are a bit more abstract, but the story it tells is wonderful.

This game is so creative and has some very cool and fun mechanics to support it.The art direction is super unique as well.
If you are looking for a challenging game, don’t play this one. If you are looking for a fun game to play with your young child, this game is perfect.

This was my first Metroid game and I really enjoyed it! The game has an optional hint system so you don’t have to spend hours looking for something you may have missed, but be prepared to backtrack across the map a ton. Like I mean a TON. Still, a lot to enjoy!

So I’m posting this after finishing the story of Dave the Diver, but you could really just play this game forever.
Super cool cross between deep sea exploration and restaurant management games. They jammed so much other stuff in here too, dang. Very much recommend.
