Seeing a lot of talk about the modern day parallels in Andor. Not wrong, mind you but it’s bigger than that. Tony Gilroy is actually exploring our history to show us how societies fall and people rise up? That’s what SW has always been about. This has happened throughout history.

I've been having a great conversation with a friend of mine here on Bluesky about THAT scene in Andor S2E3 (don't want to spoil it) & the discourse surrounding it. She gave me some great perspective on it from an angle I had not considered, and that's what makes for great discussion on these things

You know, it's ok to not like the version of a character by the marketing of its latest movie. It's also ok to feel like you got your version of a character in a previous one that's different. What I don't get is actively wanting the newer product to fail to prop up the older one you prefer.

1923 had a great finale. Touching and just felt right, despite the fact that I didn't see where they were going in the best way. White Lotus finale was anticlimactic. Appropriate, I guess but I don't think I cared about those characters enough for it to be affecting or meaningful.

#ValKilmer was phenomenal as Jim Morrison, and it’s his best role amongst a fantastic career. He was so great as Doc Holiday, but I have to say, Dennis Quaid’s doc is better. I said what I said.

I grew up in the south, have lived in North Carolina for quite awhile now. I'm here to tell you, that not only is Parker Posey's accent in the White Lotus accurate, her entire portrayal of a middle aged southern woman is 100% accurate as well.

Severance - i can’t figure out if they shot in actual snowy locations or not. There is no frozen breath. Is it just something they didn’t want to spend the money to add in post or is it intentional? lol they’re tipping their cap in the direction that they’re not really where they appear to be?

It is a bullshit question, but to be fair, it was a gratuitous shot that was unnecessary and done for shock value. You have to expect the media response. That’s not really on Isaacs, though.
As someone who does not enjoy following politics or even talking politics in anything other than an academic sense, I’m finding it as tough to engage on this site as i do on twitter. It just dominates the discussions these days, and most discussions involve a lot of emotion, which i just can’t do.

I'm not so sure about this. Daredevil was always a little more niche than the rest of the marvel product. More violent, bloody and adult. As with an R rated movie, the ceiling is lower. So I'm not convinced that it's a failure unless expectations were out of whack.

I'm not so sure about this. Daredevil was always a little more niche than the rest of the marvel product. More violent, bloody and adult. As with an R rated movie, the ceiling is lower. So I'm not convinced that it's a failure unless expectations were out of whack.
