When the Mary Rose was raised, her wet weight was 272 tonnes (150 cars, two blue whales, 30 T. rexs or 200,000 human brains)

That's not including the lifting cradle, which added another 72 tonnes/45 cars/0.7 blue whales/eight T. rexs/55,000 human brains...

12 Nov 1942 // At about 7am landing ship HMS Cathay, a requisitioned merchant ship, which had been bombed (with one man killed) while landing troops at Bougie, Algeria, on the previous afternoon, exploded and capsized. #OTD in 1941 a sand table exercise was held in Tobruk to plan for the breakout operation.

The picture you often see of this event is misdated to 28 November.
