I went and read the article stating this "8,000%" increase, and of course it shows no numbers or logic of how they achieved that percentage.

Another small town quirk that I had to personally unlearn is that it's okay to not be totally dressed up and looking great to run errands. The cashier isn't going to call her church group and gossip about how your hair was a mess. They don't know you. They don't care.
