Guess it depends of the quality of the course. I am thankful for the one I had, before I actually had to lead a team and learned a lot. My husband (not academia) had one as well, we are still talking about issues that we learned and how to address them.

Guess this comes with age.. first I managed the setting aside of books I didn't like and now I immidiately trash papers after a horrible Figure 1. Would have forced myself to read the whole thing a few years ago.

I find naked moles extremely interesting for their ability to resist cancer. Yet, we are working with a (norvegicus) rat model and this comes sometimes with several drawbacks as antibodies might not be available, bioinformatic pipelines not set up... Every model has its own dis/advantages.
