I can relate to being inspired by practices that have survived from antiquity but "I like this theology because in my interpretation, it elevates me above those I consider my lessers" is generally about ideology rather than faith

However. One of the patients talking with "Viv" (the AI companion)...had not had a visitor in three months.
She talked for two hours. She was so, so happy to have someone to talk to.

I later had a big orange tabby who got up to 24 lbs (never managed to get him below 22). Funny thing was, of all the cats I've had, these two bruisers were the most active, much more into running, climbing, and jumping than their more moderate sized sibs.

Many yrs ago, I had a cat who fetched pen caps. I would lie in bed and throw the pen cap through the open bathroom door into the high-sided claw foot bathtub. He would run, scramble up and over (all 20 lbs of him) and into the tub and bring the cap back to me again&again.

Think of all the unquestioned fantasies in our culture about how one of the perks of being rich - for men anyway - is being surrounded by and having access to countless "beautiful women." Not as humans but as prizes, commodities, consumables, decoratiions, etc.

Wow, explains a lot. We got a mailing about a house for sale in our neighborhood which I did not recognize despite almost daily walking that block. I went to look specifically and ... Wow. How is that the same house, I wondered. Never even thought of AI.
