So, since bad history is damaging: when the civil rights movement talked about "nonviolence" they meant a set of tactics. They planned actions for maximum disruption and intentionally defied police and laws.

This is very different from how "peaceful protest" is meant by many using it today.

If you know any foreign nationals in removal proceedings, make sure they retain a lawyer before their Master Calendar Hearing (MCH). ICE is going to them to arrest FNs with no lawyer.

Source: immigration paralegal who has a lot of removal proceedings cases.

Everytime I go to work, I see the barricades slowly move further and further back on tunnel road, and the repairs and businesses reopen. I'll be driving on this tomorrow. It's been since Sept 26th when I drove to aldi to get last min food after work before Helene hit, the road was already flooding.

It's rebuilding the golf course.

A council member also just released where they'll be directing $225 million in federal funds. Rental aid is not on the list. Bailing out the tourism industry is. #avlnews #avlgov
