Tonight I wrote a brief form of such a holistic, systematic rebuke. Am hoping it will be published soon.
What we need right now is a holistic, systematic rebuke of current Trumpian ideology & strategy : its betrayal of moral truth, humanity in general, & American ideals; its foundation in cowardly fear, racism, xenophobia & hate; its fraudulence, corruption; its foundation in lies.

I've written my philippic (short version, anyway). Will send to newspaper.
I have been a poet all my life, & have dealt in poetry repeatedly for the last few yrs with what is fundamentally the moral & political offense to law, liberty and humanity of Trumpism (see pub links in my profile). I don't know if I'm able to write the philippic I envision here. Possibly I'll try.

Watercolour of gardens in #Winchester with the cathedral in the background. This was done on one of several sketching visits in the '90s. You can soak up history in Winchester which has a wonderful atmosphere, dank and timeless, very nostalgic for me.

My lovely publisher made these postcards to help promote my book. If you had one, you could get your library to order a copy! Plus they make nifty bookmarks. If you'd like one, or a couple to share, DM me your mailing address and I'll send you a Happy Holiday card! (US only.) 📚 ❤️‍🔥 📬

“Hugh MacDiarmid” wasn’t really called Hugh MacDiarmid, and his version of Scots wasn’t something anyone spoke — but he made mysterious modernist poetry out of old dictionaries. I wrote about his famous poem “The Watergaw”, and how one phrase in it seems to have been obscure even to the poet himself

This is the most (nay, the ONLY) viral thing I've posted, on Blsky. Maybe it's expressing a real need felt by many. I'm not suggesting a typical policy paper or think piece : rather a vivid holistic depiction or evocation of the depraved wrongness which is threatening American values, moral norms.

The NPR obituary of Frank Gehry mentions his lifelong obsession with fish, which I had never heard of before.
Drawing and sculpting fish helped him design buildings that "express feeling and humanistic qualities." It helps explain this Gehry sculpture of a fish in the Weisman Art Museum.

O blind people, O besieged nation – the gift of shameless men is shame itself,
the spoils of evil men, dishonor.
