I'm also more sympathetic to the 'groceries are almost as expensive as eating out' argument in certain contexts i.e. the remote town where I worked - the place we went to on days off sold burgers for $8-11 that would be £12+ in most pubs now, but there was an extortionate monopoly on groceries

used Eventbrite for advertising public events when I was an Events Manager and the UX makes it completely unusable; my workplace's events wouldn't even appear on specific keyword searches, most results are online pyramid scheme courses listed as 'in-person'
