Please stop using the 16 year CDC statistic when talking about how long it takes for women to be diagnosed with VWD!!! This statistic is taken out of context and misquoted. The CDC study interviewed 75 women with VWD who managed to get a diagnosis and be treated at a hemophilia treatment center.

This. Especially Senate Republicans.
The greatest political scandal today is not what Trump is doing. It is the fact that congressional Republicans have given up their role in the constitutional system as a check on the executive branch. If we are in a constitutional crisis, it is as much on Mike Johnson and John Thune as anyone else.

How many of you know someone who’s lost a job or has a job in jeopardy due to all these new executive orders? I’m guessing most people on here.😔

The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

In 2023, the University of Michigan received $683 million in NIH funding w indirect costs of 56% (~$382 million)

With the new cap of 15%, which also applies to current funding, that’s $280 million less per year than budgeted.

And that’s just one institution.

This will BREAK academia.

As a Canadian, I prefer this version. Blue states, come join us and leave the MAGA fever dream behind. We offer universal healthcare, sane gun control laws and a commitment to peace, order, and good gov’t, ideals that we don’t always live up to but at least no one is storming parliament.

Hematologists are so good at protecting women w/ hemophilia during surgery and the days immediately following hysterectomy. Quite a few, however, forget about bleeding risk weeks after as stitches dissolve, sending patients to the ER pouring 🩸
Let’s talk about potential bleeding risk after hysterectomy

I’ve cared for infants who stopped breathing w/ pertussis.

School aged kids who died of flu or COVID.

And many of my patients can’t be vaccinated because they’re on chemotherapy or are immune compromised.

Vaccinations save lives of those who get them & those who cannot.

It’s that simple.
