On a much happier note, we are getting ready for the first snow day here with a foray into dominos. My sister the attorney is assigned to read the rules and we will have the SiL on speed dial, she is the family dominos expert.

Ready for the snow. We’re new at dominos so may have to call MN relatives to get clarification of the rules.

Isn’t this the most beautiful winter painting? Saw it at an art show and walked away. Hub swung by the next day and bought it for me for a surprise.

Our city has an “all come” low brass concert for the holidays. Meet at a church hall, practice some basic carols a few times then march en masse to the riverside open air theater. It’s wonderful. From 11yo to 89yo play. The sousaphones are my fav. Been going for 20yrs

It really is. I’m from TX and I don’t mind the winters one bit. I’ve been to all the resale shops and bought a bunch of second hand coats for all the temperatures.

We did this to our sweet rescue pup one year. She stood frozen until we took it off. We felt awful, never did that again.

Ducks are beautiful.I've often said a fashion designer should copy duck colors for a fall line. Turquoise black topaz green iridescent white orange brown patterns. Just one sample from a rather ordinary duck. Can you imagine an evening gown with this color shading...

I love the Del. Hub went for business 2-3 times a yr. We always stayed here. They always asked whether we wanted to be in the "new" part. Heck no, give me the sloped ceiling and slanted floors please.

In case this interests folks. At the Lincoln Home visitor center in Springfield IL. Late President Gerald Ford was in the National Park Service. I did not know that!

Saw this at the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa last week, there used to be one/maybe still is in the sculpture garden near the National Gallery in DC also.

I know this is weird to share on a Sunday but thought you all would be interested. At the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, part of a set of five paintings from the 1500s? Anyway each represented a Catholic saint and how he was done away with. This poor fellow obviously went out w/a couple of knives.

This diorama is from an entire exhibit of tiny exact replica rooms at the Chicago Museum of Art. Probably not what you are actually asking about but just in case anyone is interested, check it out! In the basement, easy to miss.
