Panel 1: X's eyes are closed, but furrowed, hair loose over his face. He's having a nightmare.

Panel 2: The scene of Zero's death in X1. X clutches a dying Zero's hand, tears running down his face. Zero attempts to give a reassuring smile, the lower half of his body missing and inner parts strewn over the floor.

💙: "Not again...!"

Panel 3: X's eyes snap awake from the nightmare, tears in his eyes.

💙: "!!!"

Panel 4: X is sitting up in bed, clutching his blanket to his chest anxiously. He looks shocked, confused. Besides him is a sleeping Zero, tucked under the blanket, his hair loose and falling over the bedside.

💙: "...! Again...?"

💙: "Why did I think... Again...?"

Panel 1: X, Zero and Vile are standing in armor, staring down a Vile MKII in a Goliath ride armor. Vile has an arm on his shoulder cannon, Zero is prepping to grab his saber, and X is holding his own buster arm anxiously.

💙: "If it is your destiny to DIE here..."

Panel 2: X glances up to Zero, a grimace on his face. Interspersed is the growing charge of Goliath's cannon.

Panel 3: "VvwwWWWEEEEEE-" Goliath's cannon continues to charge, reaching a fever pitch. Light is growing in its core.

Panel 4: X dashes, the panel is of his boots blurred as he rushes forward.

💙: "Then I..."

Panel 5: Goliath's cannon fires, the white hot plasma bearing down on them. X pushes past Zero and Vile, left arm out to shield the both of them and faces the blast head on, his buster aimed towards the shot. Zero and Vile look startled, caught off guard.

💙: "Choose to... CHANGE it...!"
♥️: "?!"

Cris' (my) redesign of a helmeless Zero and Kara's ( @rockwelllight.bsky.social ) redesign of a helmeless Vile from Megaman X.

Zero is in an outfit that is a combination of the Absolute Zero armor from Command Mission and the Halloween Zero armor from XDiVE.

Vile is wearing a modified version of the Halloween Vile armor from XDiVE.

Zero's hair curves in a large crescent shape as he leans over Vile, mouth open with blood staining his fangs. His right hand is cupping Vile's cheek, while the left reaches for his waist possessively. His wings are arched around the both of them, but are made of hard-light holograms so you can see their arms and armor underneath the wings. The circuit-pattern gives off a glow that bounces and illuminates them both.

Vile is leaning into Zero's right hand, holding it to his face. He is wincing slightly at the blood loss, but is determined to look at Zero. His left hand is at the back of Zero's neck, nudging him closer as if he was requesting another bite. Blood from a vampire bite drips from his neck, but he seems otherwise unfazed (if a bit (lol) into Zero's vampirism).

Panel 1: Shreds of red ribbon float in the air, a lone figure breathing heavily from overexerting themselves. His back is to the viewer, hair messy and disheveled, hiding his face from view. In his hand is another torn ribbon.

Panel 2 + Dialogue:
"WHERE IS IT?!"
The camera pans to a side view as the monster screams in fury, tossing the ribbon he'd been clutching to the wayside. Tears of blood dripping down his face, you can see rows of triangle jagged teeth.

Panel 3: "...is it?! ..is it...?!" The words screamed continue to echo over the void, tattered ribbons still fluttering. The God of Death clutches his injured shoulder, glaring at the monster. The God of Life, known as Dirge, holds up his injured partner, looking anxiously to the monster.

Panel 4: Dirge hesitates, debating whether he should get the attention of the monster that had defeated Death.

Panel 5: Dirge starts to speak. "Do you..." As he opens his mouth, the ribbon the monster had discarded flutters over the panel, revealing a different silhouette instead of Dirge's whenever they intersect.

Panel 6: "Even know what you're looking for...?" Dirge's words hover over the panel of the monster, clearly getting its attention. It stares with wide manic eyes towards him, blood still dripping from its eyes (camera is in Dirge's POV).

Panel 7: A torn ribbon drifts into the monster's line of sight, as if the ribbon had chosen it. The monster holds its claws out to catch it, focusing on the object. Blood continues to drip from its eyes. It almost looks... Shocked. The ribbon from Panel 5 overlays Panel 7 and Panel 8, showing that the ribbon the monster is looking at is the same one.

Panel 8: The ribbon floats more over a grimacing Dirge, and wherever it overlays an image of Rock can be seen. They share the same face, conveying that Dirge IS Rock, or some other version of him. The monster's speech bubble is still warped but calmer. "...You," it says. It's hard to tell if it's accusatory or in recognition.

The City streets are clear, pedestrians having long fled the scene of two war machines preparing for a fight. Jumbotron TV screens are on every building, flickering propaganda and the face of their Ruler; Wily.

Their General, Rockwell Light, has his arm cannon prepped, standing in a ready position. He wears a glare that could kill, teeth bared. He doesn't know whether he will lose this fight, but hopes he does, hopes that the unregistered machine will finally end his misery.

The towering stranger is MZ, a Maverick of the future that traverses dimensions, leaving paths of destruction and death in his wake. It is all done out of boredom and the desire for combat, to finally find a worthy foe. His war hammer is balanced in his left hand, the tell-tale Maverick red of his eyes glowing in the afternoon light. He doesn't expect Rock to win; Rock simply won't.

He doesn't know that this meeting will change both of their lives forever, for the better and for the worst.
