For me I think ABT this RE social isolation… where PPL might be available to talk to me in an emotional crisis e.g. suicidal ideation are not really available to hang out W me to reduce social isolation that leads to emotional crisis

Like it's not like they're treating one as of providing charity … they may be really busy and make time/spend spoons on you in a Crisis but for joyful activities they spend they're limited time W other PPL

This is an essential skill for supporting folks around you with mental health issues and just general life crap… but it's so difficult to resist the urge to try to cheer someone up when would they need is validation/affirmation and someone to just sit with them

This is how things should be for every situation to be honest… accessibility should be standard as an option rather than something you have to file special request for and have someone gate keep

The only not great thing was that I have to have my Caregiver seal up the ballot and show me where to sign on the ballot envelope but other than that probably the most accessible the government process I've used in any context so far

In California, all voters are automatically sent vote by mail kit. And if you need an accessible ballot you can just use the online accessible ballot system, print out the ballot and use the kit that was already mailed to you to mail it back. Or drop it off in person etc.

Every time someone offers me help I have to try to determine if they actually have the capacity to follow through and accept/decline the help accordingly… It feels like I'm managing other people spoons in addition to my own and it is utterly exhausting

I especially worried that I should have Grace for the fact that this might be coming from internalized ABLEISM and not defining their own capacity but I'm honestly exhausted by this dynamic with almost everyone around me People keep promising me things they can't follow through on

I lost it a bit at a friend the other day for doing this again and now I feel like I'm the jerk because they didn't have to offer to help me but they did… it's just my past experience shows they won't have the spoons to follow through so I got annoyed

Actually this isn't one friend it‘s several friends and several combinations of situations…
Sometimes I might ask someone for help they promised to help but don't fall through… Others times I'm complaining to them about something and they offered to help me but then don't follow through etc.
