The Dems should be working nonstop to educate the public about Elon's hijacking of the treasury (most people don't know this is happening or what it means), and they should be advancing plans to intervene. Instead, they have retreated into irrelevance.

Transracial adoption is the ultimate diversity hire. Just like adoption has been used as a racist tool to control, erase and oppress, it has also been used to appear including and non-racist. The transracial adoptee performs the role of the token diversity hire, whilst being forced to assimilate.

My adult children are frustrated that they lack family medical history as a result of my adoption. I'm chronically ill and this info would be helpful to us. 🥚

if i ever need to be reminded of how, in a deeply unequal society, affluent people *need* and *depend* on the existence of the impoverished and marginalized, i just think about the popularity of #adoption.

And some of us are immigrants by way of adoption. Yet some adoptees aren't naturalized because parents didn't go through the process.

We need to pass the Adoptee Citizenship Act of 2024! 🥚

Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.

Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this.

Do not.

Mom has dementia. Dad is frail. Kids are 20/21. Had to reinvent Christmas this yr. Spent the last 3 months crocheting snowballs. Had an epic indoor snowball fight. Time and fun does erase some wounds. #adoptee 🥚

If you're an adoptive parent contemplating writing a children's book about adoption, don't.

You tend to write about the day you adopted your child, but that's not a story about adoption. It's a story about you.

Let the adult adoptees write about adoption. It happened to us, not you.

J. J. Kelso, Superintendent of Neglected and Dependent Children, complained that he never had enough supply to meet the demand for 'placing out' children. Kelso no doubt increased his supply with the children of incarcerated women.

The Sheriff of Michigan’s Genesee County has received praise for efforts to boost voting in his jail. But the bar is set incredibly low: only about a quarter of Michigan’s 83 counties have any policy to assist jailed people with voter registration.

The Michigan Jail that Candidates Keep Visiting
This county lockup in Flint goes far beyond most in promoting civic engagement. But the jail still cuts people off from the world in many other ways while they await trial, sometimes for years.
