Patrimonialism—the word that best describes Trump’s governance—well-described and set forth here in this excellent article.

Schumer does not believe we are in a Constitutional crisis yet…and that is why he voted for the CR. Revealed last night on Chris Hayes’ show on MSNBC.
"Why isn’t he doing everything possible to fight back against this constitutional crisis that we’re facing? Your interview was the first time I’ve actually gotten a clear answer to that: And it’s because he doesn’t believe it’s yet a constitutional crisis." - @ezralevin.bsky.social on Sen. Schumer

A mural of Anthony Fauci was meant to inspire staff. Then NIH took it down.

ERASURE! An effective fascist technique and one of the Trump regime’s approaches to annihilate the factual contributions of prominent figures in American history.

On Tuesday, Trump's GSA proposed selling hundreds of federal buildings, including key parts of the monumental core of Washington. Is there precedent for this massive invitation to corruption? Yes, the privatization of the post-Soviet economy.

“Usually, when elected officials implement foolish policies,” Rogé Karma writes, “they believe the political upside outweighs the substantive downside. What makes Trump’s tariffs so unusual is that the politics of them also appear to be terrible.”

This is a sad decision by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser. The BLM mural is a historic monument to a time when all of America was focused sharply upon the egregious racism that brutally cost the life of one man by choking before all of our eyes. The mural should remain.

It’s surreal that I have to go to a foreign leader to hear someone describe the full derangement and malignancy of my own president in plain language, because our own “free press” and opposition leaders won’t do it. Bravo Trudeau
Trudeau: "He talked about banking again today in a tweet, which doesn't make any sense because 16 banks are currently active in Canada holding about $113b worth of assets in this country... what he wants is to see a total collapse of the Canadian economy, because that'll make it easier to annex us."

If you wonder how countries slip into dictatorship, it’s like this.

Amidst another flurry of news, an official adds at the end that Trump has signed an Executive Order saying that “only the President or Attorney General can speak for the US…as to what the law is.”

What?!

We stand with the @apnews.com which is resisting government pressure attempting to dictate how it writes about the news. This is exactly what the founders had in mind when they crafted the First Amendment.

Such a tragedy. Mehdi is right.
The deaths of innocent kids Kfir and Ariel Bibas in captivity is a war crime & a heartbreaking tragedy.

Whether they were killed in an Israeli airstrike, as Hamas claims, is frankly irrelevant.

There was never any justification whatsoever for kidnapping kids in the first place.

I agree with Conway. I saw this interview by Ali Velshi of Rep. Crockett and thought to myself that she was spot on!
Could someone place an order for 100 more Jasmine Crocketts for overnight delivery to the Democratic Party

thx in advance
Crockett: "It's just that they're idiots. These are the same guys as it relates to our nuclear stockpile, they're like, 'Oh, wait a minute, we needed those guys? Can we get them back? Oh, we don't know how to.' I don't know how anyone can look at this administration & feel a semblance of confidence"
